"The inspiration for this composition comes from two breathtaking pictures by Edward S. Curtis, a well-known American photographer who captured the Native American way of live in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The pictures are found in his book, 'Portraits from North American Indian Life'.
'Morning Crow' is my representation of a Shaman, a warrior, and the spirit of nature all wrapped up in one. This sculpture makes a nice counterpart for my sculptures of southwest women, which include 'Blue Corn,' 'Brisa de Primavera,' 'Mountain Flowers,' and 'Federica,' which is represented in 'Taos Morning'."
