"The bronze sculpture of San Miguel Arcangel is made from an intricately carved piece of wood. A latex mold is made from the carving, and then following the lost wax technique, a bronze sculpture is made. Pigmented and ferric patinas are placed on the bronze to match the natural pigments used to polychrome the traditional woodcarving.
San Miguel Arcangel is depicted with traditional attributes of a sword in one hand and scales in the other. He is standing on the devil, who is in the form of a cork screw-like snake with large hands and the face of a jester. The composition rests on the open pages of a book, also made of bronze, symbolizing the bible where Michael is described.
San Miguel Arcangel is one of four archangels; Michael's main task is to battle against the devil and all he represents. He is the patron saint against evil and for justice."
