"The word, pangea, refers to the theorized first continent that upon separation, formed the five continents on earth. The continents are represented on one side of the sculpture where you can distinguish a landmass from the sea. The silhouette of the head mimics the beak of a Kiwi bird, but the form of the piece is like that of an anteater. When you turn the piece around, another completely different image emerges, that of a beautiful mammoth elephant. A negative space represents his ear, an opal stone for his eye, and he has an elegant tusk. He also has six Mother of Pearl stones mounted on his feet. 'Pangea' is a classic example of a style in my sculpture called 'organic metamorphosis.'"
