"The Modern Madonna (Limited edition of 75) is respectfully dedicated to the maternal love that mothers have for their children. One side of this sculpture depicts a mother with a baby in a basket, both contemplating eye to eye in the abstraction of their faces without features. In the embrace you can see the love between the baby and its mother. When the piece is turned around, there is a totally new image that transports you in time. The second side has a pre-teen adolescent hugging its mother, asking about life in the embrace. This piece reflects the eternal support of a mother's love. Modern Madonna leads the observer to reflect on his or her life in time and to recall romantic memories of childhood. Yet another interpretation of this sculpture is the reflection of the mother's love of siblings, demonstrating that in unity their love is firm and secure." |
